Re: Bryan Peck - 1949 NG
and after ...
Hi John
I don't know if you remember, i sent you some pictures of an Ariel 350 i purchased about 18 months ago in a horrible red, blue and silver colour which had been hand painted with lots of old lead type paint.
I was told by the seller that it was a 350 Red Hunter, but on checking it turned out to be a 350cc NG rigid back and sprung front. Apart from finishing a little bit of wiring the bike is now complete, the engine runs quite smoothly with the original 275 carburettor which was rebuilt. I was quite lucky i think to obtain the timing chain cover with NG cast on it. The tank should be chrome but due to the condition of the shape of the tank i have had it painted sliver which i think looks quite good. At the present it has a single port head on it, but once i have finished the electrics i will fit the original twin port head with the low exhausts system.
Best Regards
Bryan

Bryan,
She looks lovely. The tank is just fine. I did the same with the tank on my VH and painted it silver probably for the same reasons as you did. If you didn'y know any different you'd think this is the way it was meant to be!!
Keep up the good work!!
