Crank thrust washers

Post by DavidTetley »

When building up an Arrow crank can someone please tell me if the crankpin's should be pushed fully down to "nip" the triangular thrust washer so it doesn't move or should it be left so it can rotate?

Evening,

I've just checked the only built up crank assembly I can find and the triangular washers are fixed but the con-rod still has a little side ways clearance.
I'll let others answer as well so you get an answer based on other crank assemblies not just one.

If the pins are stepped you would normally press to trap the washers. The distance of the larger diameter will give you the correct end float.. These are general comments only. If someone has specific data relating to the particular model use that. Nev
