I notice that KG & KH Ariel’s prior to my 54 KH used to have an oil pressure gauge fitted, I was considering putting one on my KH using the original rocker oil feed tapping, I have spoken to a couple of people on the subject and both say it would lead to paranoia. I thought it would be a good idea as it may give some indication of timing side bearing wear or pressure valve malfunction, I would welcome any thoughts or advice.

I can comment on the pressure gauge on my single.
I know some call them "worry meters" and, yes, it can be worrying to watch a fairly good reading (when cold) to drop away alarmingly as things warm up. Which is normal ..
However, if you treat it just as a indication that there is actually pressure present then it's useful.
