Has anyone tackled charging an Iphone (5.25 volts) directly from six volt system? If so what resistors did you use to drop the voltage? Any help would be greatly appreciated, i'll even buy you a pint.

Using a 12 volt car charger gives less than 5 volts when only putting 6 in as opposed to the 12 it was designed for, and I was looking for a more bespoke solution.

Hi Rob,
Assuming you want to keep the 6v electrics, you could put in a dc dc step up converter and a 12v outlet.
These are inexpensive via eBay etc. and you could also run goodies like a HID headlight.

Thanks that is exactly what I need, and a sweet and elegant solution. And yes the video made me laugh! Now all I need is some way of mounting a fridge and a tv onto the luggage rack..........
