6 volt versus 12volt

Post by BarryDavies »

I intend to fit my Arrow with electronic ignition. Will it make starting easier if I upgrade it from 6 volt to 12 volt ?
Has anyone any experience of this? Will it make starting easier for my old legs?

Hello Barry,

12 volts is a good up grade, the lights can be a bit brighter and if using a Boyer power box there is no need be to concerned about over charging and it has an emergency start facility.
The electronic ignition does help to make the bike start easier, since it stays constant and does not wear.

Hello Barry and Brian,
I realise this post is months old but would like to point out that Draganfly now supply their own electronic ignition that I have fitted to my Arrow and has proven to be most successful. The associated dual output coil is also a great piece of kit and together they have transformed starting and and performance, all on 6 volts. However lighting could probably be improved by the latest tec' bulbs. The point is Draganfly's kit is quite cheap in comparison.
