Fixing transfers.

Post by jj.palmer »

Hi
Anyone with advice on how to fix transfers, I have purchased the following from Drags but I am unsure what type they are when I look at Drags instructions ie water slide, spirit fix, varnish fix, dry rub down, tacky back or sticker.

TRA 51 - Minimum oil level
TRA 52 - Maximum oil level
TRA 45 - Ariel works etc
TRA 46 - Horse and horse shoe

is there anyone with advice who has fitted these before.

Regards

John,

They are usually water slide, and normal practice is to slide them on, let them dry and they paint over with a clear lacquer (mine is some humbrol stuff from a model shop).

A '55 nh wouldn't have had a maximum oil level transfer though I don't think.

Cheers

Thanks Rob I will try one as a "water slide" fixing, also I will relook at the "max oil" transfer.

I recently had a pair of oil level transfers from Draganfly and they were dry fix ones like 'Letraset' Which you just position on and press down onto the panel then CAREFULY lift the backing paper off.

Hi
Have finally identified the types of transfers, the TRA 45 Ariel works etc is a Waterslide type and the others are a Dry Rub Down type as Ian stated, whether the types change depending where Drags gets them from is something worth considering.
