ARIEL SG31
Hello!
It is a photo of my new Ariel SG31 from 1931. In fact, it is more complete, much parts it is in boxes.
The main deficiencies: gearbox, clutch cover, oil tank and piston. Besides these parts rest is.
Does anyone have the original piston, or a drawing / sketch?
Can someone tell me exactly how much was produced this motorcycles (only SG31 model )?
I'm looking for contact with the owners of this model, my e-mail: kamil.bartosiak29@gmail.com
Regards
Kamil

Hello Kamil.
Welcome to our forum. I hope you find answers to your questions.
The bike looks in very good condition.
Is that an original side stand?

Re: ARIEL SG31
I'm from Polish. I have the technical documentation for of this motorcycle (manual, parts list, orginal sales brochure). Motorcycle was sold in Poland. It has a plate on the front mudguard from the dealer. And was stored for about 40 years at home. It is therefore in such good condition.
I know that the parts which I need are difficult to find and buy.
In a parts catalog , there is no side stand. But that is well done and looks good.

Hi Kamil. There are a couple of guys in the AOMCC who are very interested in Slopers and may be able to help you. However I do not wish to give out contact details on a forum. Please send me a private message (PM) and I will put you in touch

Hello Kamil,
It would be good idea to put different gearbox in, if you can not
find a real one. Then it would be running though.

Re: ARIEL SG31
Hi Kamil The gear box is different to later boxes in both the casings and mainshaft. The correct box was used only on 31 32 slopers and long case cammys to my knowledge. They are good to ride but are a pain to sort the engines. Clive jones and I have several slopers, 2 running and I have many repair solutions for problems you might find. PM if I can help.

Re: ARIEL SG31
I'm about to show my ignorance . . .
Is an "SG31" anything like an "SB21" or an "SB32" (550cc) ???
If so, try here fo a piston:
http://vintagemotorcyclepistons.co.uk/s ... hop_param=
I just bought (their last) piston for a 1930 500cc P&M Panther (A Hepolite 3121 - standard bore).

Re: ARIEL SG31
You're right PaulMeredith, these gearboxes were only used in these models. If I remember correctly it should have the symbol: BAPDH.
I consider mount another gearbox, but only ultimately. I know what with this is related.
In the case of my problems I will contact with you.
Bob.Murphy Thank you for submitting website with those parts, it is very helpful, I hope find the right piston (diameter 86.4 mm---> 500cc).
