Banbury Run 2013

Post by paul.wirdnam »

What a great day! The weather forecast for Sunday had been rain all day but on the actual day it was warm, with sunny intervals and only a few drops in the late afternoon. :D

As usual, lots of Black Ariels, possibly only outdone (in terms of quantity, not quality!) by BSA Slopers. The autojumble back to its normal field, unlike last year where there field was so water logged it could not be used.

And as usual, I wore my helmet camera and the edited results are below. This video editing lark is a time consuming business --- it took me longer to make this video and upload it to YouTube than drive from Brighton to Banbury, take part in the run and drive back....really!

It's in 1080p HD, so you'll need to select HD from the little gear wheel in YouTube bottom menu....and go full screen!

Nice movie!

I can almost smell burning oil,fuel,leather...

Great roads you have there in England and left side traffic is always exciting to watch (when you are not used to it).

Thanks!

You should --- you'll have a great day! I enjoyed 2013 much more than 2012 for some reason...maybe because I was experting poor weather and instead got a dry day. Hope to be back there in 2014.

I was going through Banbury Run booklet last night; the one that lists all the competitors, their machine and their comments. One made me laugh:

Sunbeam - Black Ariel beater

My spies tell me that Graham's Sunbeam was not at all well on the day and may not have beaten many Black Ariels ...
