SAD NEWS LEN ORE
SAD NEWS LEN ORE
Last night Len came to our Cardiff branch Xmas dinner, He was in good spirit when He and Elveror left for home. At 1-15 am I recieved a call from Elveror they had arrived home and Len had put the car in the garage, returned to the house where Elveror had found Len dead on the floor.
Len will be sadly missed by the motorcycling fraternity, such dedicated workers are few and far between.

I am sure there has never been anyone in the Ariel Club who has done more to promote the Club and raise the enjoyment level of the members than Len. Together with his tireless wife, Elvira, he has put on countless Rallies over more years than I can remember. The extremely successful Annual Rally this year in the Forest of Dean was, ironically, to have been the last major one one he organised. Although he was a Vice President of our Club and a Past President of The VMCC it is hard to envisage anyone less concerned with the trappings of office and more interested in just riding motorcycles for fun. Fay and I have lost a very good friend but the loss to the AOMCC is huge.

Len was around the corner from me and it's down to both him, and the likes of John Mitchell, that I joined the AOMCC, stayed joined and then took the webmaster job.
He was really patient and encouraging with me (most of the time....
.....)
I've only known him 3 years, my total tenure with Ariels, but I'll miss him.
It would be fair to say that, for me, he was the local branch and (with many of those of a similar vintage) the club.
My thoughts are with his family.

Re: SAD NEWS LEN ORE
Very Sad news. As a new member to the club I never got to meet Len but enjoyed his write ups in the Cheval especially some of the Ariel Technical Tips . My Condolences to Elvira and family.
