No connection to me but thought these two might be of interest out there.

I'm liking the 1932 Ariel VH 32, Red Hunter project, 350cc.

Just looking at the logistics of getting to this auction.

Estimate seems a bit on the low side?

Roger.
Can you fill in any details from the reg no. and engine no?

It is basically as described by the auctioneers a 1932 VH with a 1937 NG engine. Original engine C 1039, original frame XF 7297. Last owner was Ian Newton who died a few years back, his widow is a club member. Apart from a wrong engine the way a much later gearbox has been fitted in place of the one with studs out of the bottom, is interesting. Mudguards and stays are terrible and the rust may be a problem, primary chaincase but the rear frame rails look a bit dodgy. I think their estimate is about right given its condition and lack of original bits. There is a fair bit that is correct though.

under all the rust you will find that the two bottom rear frame tubes broke just aft the gearbox platform and also got shorter.
see the rear spindle fork pointing downwards like on a WNG frame.
It's what I found on my '28 frame.
bending it could also make for cracks at the top just after the main tube top lug.
if it sells it must be very cheap as lots of work ahead

The 250 in the same sale and from the same source would be a better bet, at least it is more original and seemingly without the structural problems of the 1932, yes somewhat less exotic but any 1934 machine is pretty rare, only 97 on the register, only 8 of those are 250.

If I am not mistaken, much if not all of the forks on the 1932 bike are 1934 onward type so there is not a lot of 1932 material on the bike.

As you said Paul tapered tubes on Ariel girders where from 1934 > onwards. The 250 looks like a bike which can be a nice one, if you spend enough…

The forks on the 1934 bike are bent. Look at the rear tube top section above the friction discs.
