Question about Lucas H52 Headlamp switch

Pictures 3 what does F C H L mean og what functions do they have

shouldnt there be connection where i have marked the red in the picture, from my point off view it looks like something has broken off, i have searched they internet for a pictures too compares against.

i forgot the pictures in my first post, i got the wiring diagram i just need to understand the function of the switch to understand the diagram

The 1st one is OFF, then Charge, High and Low. The charging system is a bit tricky and this is one of the few areas that I would not bother with the original technology unless you you really want to. I convert the 3 brush dynamo to 2 brush, use a modern electronic regulator and rewire the switch to work more like a 1950's one. None of the modifications are visible and you have enough to worry about on an old bike without adding manual battery charging to the tasks.

When the switch is mounted with the screws does it not earth that end of the resistor wire to the frame earth to control the charge rate.
