Wanted: 275/276 carb to fit WNG

Post by john.nash »

I am not precious, any 275/276 variant that fits a period 350 is ok.
Any condition, as I will get it re-sleeved.

I guess a later 1" one might be better as I will not be fitting WNG cams.

John, they do appear on EBay , I just picked up a 1" body for only £11, so have an original 274 7/8" going spare

Wayback people in australia made replacement BRASS carb bodies and there are quite a few of them still floating around. They are more common in the smaller throat sizes. The diemetal ones distort and fall to bits sometimes, so If you are going to go to a bit of trouble I would recommend getting a brass one if possible. I reckon a 1'' one is a bit large unless your 350 is really motoring, and a bike with an oversize carb is not nice to tune. Nev

Thanks dave, Thanks Nev

Mr Mitchell, puerveyor of fine quality tat (errrr parts) phoned me to say that he has a veritable graveyard of carburettor parts that he would sell me (and enough to build what I need). I'll get it re-sleeved anyway.

This WNG re-commission will not be a catalogue of stopping and starting because key parts are missing .. he says ...
