Is thisthe correct front numberplate for a 1951 single?
...and, before I put it back on the bike, which end points forward? My gut feeling is to orient it as per arrow but I seem to remember a post some time ago suggesting otherwise.
Happy New Year, Pete

Re: 1951 Numberplate
Yes this is correct for 1951-52 in 1953 the centre piece became a steel insert and the rubber beading along the lower edge changed to suit. Fit it so the lettering reads from left to right.... I think you have it the correct way round. I wonder what the extra hole is for at the front.

To reduce weight - makes the bike go faster??I wonder what the extra hole is for at the front.
