Magneto refitting oil seals. W/NG
Magneto refitting oil seals. W/NG
Good morning
I am looking for the felt washer (2090-30) and oil excluding/retaining washer (2091-38) for refitting the magneto to the gear back cover. Draganfly were less than helpful. Can someone advise where I can get these? I am new to Ariel so have never seen them in the flesh and the bike I bought has a 'bodge job' done to prevent oil seepage so want to put it right.
Cheers
Andy

Use 2090-53?

2091-38 is just a stiff paper washer that fits on the armature shaft behind the sprocket. I think it acts more as an oil thrower as it doesn't really 'seal' anything.

Re: Magneto refitting oil seals. W/NG
I had one of the shaped metal washers with felt seal on one of my bikes, I replaced it with a rubber seal from Draganfly and it sealed better than the original fitment. Since used on two other machines and had no problems, just had to keep magneto tight against case, keeping correct chain tension and tightening three bolts, which I did not find easy as I only have two arms. I put a squeeze of sealant in the recess of the case to hold seal in position whilst assembling.

Thanks for those that have assisted with a reply - I am a member if that makes a difference.
