Yes, a hopeless thing. But it's a frame with a number---> and there are people ---> who have the rest of it.

This frame now on ebay with a asking tag of 950 pounds.
It looks like the framecode characters stamped are too large, a restamp ?

Economical with the truth or what!!
Blasted and painted within the last two weeks, (in preparation for sale), then accidently scratched when putting it in the shed, doesn't have the same ring though.
Nice touch to hint it's been res-tamped though.

Interesting someone managed to get a comment from DVLA about records based on a frame
number.
