Uprated oil pump for 1957 FH
Good afternoon everyone I'm currently in the process of rebuilding the engine on my 1957 FH Huntmaster. I would like to up rate the oil pump for the engine, together with a new pressure relief valve. Regarding the oil pump, I appear to have two options. Either the SRM pump or the Wassell/hepolite billet cast iron pump. Does anyone have experience of either? Thanks in anticipation, regards. Dickie

As far as I can see, Morgo don't do A10/Huntmaster oil pumps, the usual 'uprated' pump is from SRM.simon.holyfield wrote: ↑Fri Nov 10, 2023 10:53 pmDo Morgo make a pump for the Huntmaster/A10?JohnnyBeckett wrote: ↑Fri Nov 10, 2023 6:34 pm hi Dickie , get on to MORGO for a uprated pump they make oil pumps , and they are very good and helpful
However (rounded prices - Drags is excl. VAT, the others probably excl VAT but I'm not sure!):
Wassell/Hepolite pump: £300
SRM pump £334
Drags pump £379
The standard-type pumps are fine (I opted to recondition mine rather than fit an SRM pump for over 3 times the cost, at the time) but for a new replacement I'd be very tempted to try an SRM pump at these prices.

I am with Simon, there is nothing wrong with the standard pump in good condition. The wear rate is low as it is pumping oil it is rather well lubricated and will only suffer if the engine has been run with blasting media or similar in the oil.
