Re: Help rebuilding a Arrow
Hello Tim,
The main wiring harness inside the dummy tank sits loosely down the offside of the frame, towards the rear of the dummy tank it comes up to run along the top of the frame exiting the rear edge of the dummy tank via a small cutaway to continue along the top of the frame on the offside to just past the hole for the battery, the main harness ends here to be joined up with the two wires from the rear light and the two wires from the brake light switch.
The section of harness within the dummy tank has various branches running off it to the coils that is run through a hole in the side of the frame, make sure there is a grommet in the hole to stop chaffing of the wires, the rectifier is fitted to the frame on the nearside with the wiring running across the top of the frame, plus a small branch off for connecting the three wires coming up from the alternator, plus there are two wires going down off the main harness to the horn, although not part of the main wiring harness you've also got the two wires from the points coming up into the dummy tank on the offside for connecting to the wires from the coils.
Not helping matter is the fact that you've also got the speedo cable, throttle cable and clutch cable running down the offside of the frame also.
Hope this helps, its a bit of a muddle of wires and cables down that offside section of the frame, the unfortunate thing is I dont think a photograph would show up the main run of the harness very well stuck down the side of the frame within the dummy tank.
If still stuck, then please ask again..
Roger
