Scrolling down that Kleinanzeige page I found this happy chappy

Hello ,
I am offering for sale on behalf of a friend a very rare antique Ariel VH 500 board tracker or flat tracker racing machine in excellent condition.
It says 26 hp in the letter, but according to my friend it has 48 hp and 580 cc.
The manual switch is located on the right side of the tank.
Board tracker races were run in the USA in the 1920s on oval tracks with a wooden surface and are still held on concrete tracks in some cities in Germany, e.g. Bielefeld. (see GOOGLE and YOUTUBE = board tracker or flat tank
With this you can also use it on public roads.
The highlight at vintage car meetings.
Unique piece, you will not find a comparable motorcycle.

It's more a generic term with broad and varying meaning with regard to motor cycles. There's Edwardian, Veteran, Vintage, Post vintage, Classic (another hard to define in the eye of the beholder class), Numerous and worrysome, invented "specials" like that Ariel TRACKER. Very hard to put a value on, at all. Choppers etc etc. and "as found in original shabby paint and unpolished. Unrestored which I prefer. Over restoration can ruin a bike. Nev
