I have a front mudguard that I bought as being Ariel it seems to be for a 21" front wheel so I am told that this means that it is likely to be pre war. It is in good condition and at this time is in primer to stop it corroding. So this a good basis for a restoration.

Re: Ariel Pre War front mudguard
the 'ears' at the front date it to 1951 to 1956 but the lack of a hole for the brake cable grommet say 1951-54. There is insignificant difference between the diameter of a 3.25x19, 300x20 and 3.00x21 tyres being 25-1/2", 26" and 27" diameter. The difference in radius will be 3/4" at the most. Ariel did not use 21" front wheels anyway, at least as standard, except on competition models. You may want to keep it!

Re: Ariel Pre War front mudguard
Perhaps I could make it work for my ‘50 NH build?
The shipping to Canada would be a killer though.
