Is there any difference between an NH valve spring (525-35) and a VG spring (515-31)?
The reason I ask is that I have just received a set of new valve springs from Drags for my NH (VS19). In the same order I got a single VG outer (515-31) to make up a part set and it appears identical to the ones in the VS19.
I thought the VG and NH springs were different. The VG spring from my part set has the same number of coils but heavier gauge wire than the replacement from Drags - 0.155" versus 0.144". Drags spring on right, original on left.

Re: Difference between VG and NH valve springs
The VG would be larger diameter and different collet holders, The end of each coil should be tapered OFF better than those are done. IF they don't compress evenly the guides will wear more. Nev

Re: Difference between VG and NH valve springs
Nev, I believe that the VG uses different springs (515-31) that are ligher than the VH which had the larger diameter 540-34 springs. (520-34 1-15/32″ dia versus 515-31 1-3/8″). The question is however is the 515-31 VG spring identical to the 525-35 NH spring. I agree, the ends of the springs are not as flat as I would like. The VG would be larger diameter and different collet holders

Dave, I did and they sent me the three outer springs pictured above, supposedly one for a VG (515-31) and two for the NH (525-35) however all three appear identical.Check the drags website they list all the valve springs

Re: Difference between VG and NH valve springs
I suggest that you ask Draganfly if they have made a mistake or what is the reason for the springs being the same....It may be that the originals are so close that one can be superseded to another or even that Ariel did that. It is amazing how many parts that have different numbers can be superseded in order to keep costs down when small numbers are being made as opposed to the quantities made by the factory.

Re: Difference between VG and NH valve springs
I suggest that a different number means a strong possibility the springs are different. I never use the strong VH springs in anything as they give the 2 lobe camshaft hell. The NH collet retainers are smaller than the VG ones. But you may be able to fit them IF you have to, but that's not the question. I don't think I ever have. Nev
