Correct Headlight 1948 Ariel NG350

Post by JoshJ »

Lad's,

Id just like confirmation on which is the correct headlight for my bike, the 1947 - 1948 parts book shows a DU42R. Am i correct in saying that this is the flat glassed lens variety and not the domed MU42?

cheers

Josh

To add to the above,

Ive just been looking through the sales brochures located in the document library.

1946-1948 brochures clearly show flat lensed headlights, the dome lens appears in the 1949 brochure.

So going by the brochures, and the fact that the Ariel parts book states a DU42R, a flat lens must be correct.

Hi Josh,
I knew you were going to ask this question, so in anticipation, several years ago I did all the research and put it here https://draganfly.co.uk/product-categor ... onal-bits/

I did read that Roger and it had me just as confused.
Your write up on Drags states 45-48 had the MU42 (Domed), yet the 47 and 48 parts books state a DU42 (Flat)

And then we have the brochures showing flat from after the war until 48, then on domed
