Rigid rear brake plate

Post by JoshJ »

Lad,s,

Im contemplating purchasing the below brake plate for my 48 Rigid NG350, you can see there is some damage to the brake plate where it looks as though it has been rubbing up against the brake drum.

Is the damaged part in question referred to as the Dust Cover, Prt No: 4370-32. I searched the Prt number on Drag's and they show something similar in stainless that they no longer stock, however club spares are showing them.

Am i correct in saying that i could remove the existing/damaged dust cover and weld in a new one?

Cheers

Josh

I believe so, though I've never done it. Aren't some of them riveted on?
cheers

The dust covers are spot welded on. Originally chromed before being welded in place then the plate was enamelled.

It looks as though they are spot welded on, shouldn't be to much work in grinding back the welds on the old dust cover and welding in a new.
