Just finished the restoration of a 1951 KH500. Its not been on the road since 1965. 200 miles now done running in and a bit of de-bugging but it rides and feels great. Confident with it now to start going a bit further from home.
A big thanks to all the spares organisers for the work they do and the advice they provide. Also thanks to all the responders on the forum that helped me do the right things.
I used these suppliers and was really happy with the services they provided:
T & L Engineering, Bedford for all engine machining work
Tony Cooper for magneto & dynamo repairs
Triple S Powder Coating, Bradford
Draganfly (of course)
Acme Stainless, Billinghay for fasteners etc.
Metal Finishing Services, Bilsthorpe (chrome plating)
Paint Supremacy Lincoln (Petrol tank refurb)
Lincoln Alloy Polishing

Handlebars, clutch dome, plunger bolts, kickstart lever, gear lever, clutch arm, headlight rim, fuel cap, oil cap, seat springs, £600 so yes it was but at least you know they will fit. I think it would have been cheaper to buy new but I have had problems with some re manufactured components on other projects and wanted to keep as much of the original bike as possible.
