57 NH Crankcase for sale

Post by SteveH »

'57 Crankcase for Sale

£60 + P&P / UK Sale only

Please view pics.

This is the 3rd add for this item that I have put up in recent weeks. I note that many people have viewed it but have not showed any interest.

Can anybody tell me why this is? Is the price too high? Is the condition not good enough? Is the model not of interest? Are there very few people rebuilding engines these days?

Regards

Steve

I would not think the price is too high and the condition seems ok. I also think a fair number of this model were sold but the 500cc version would be more popular. The 350 cases are ok for that but 500 ones (different letters) would have more appeal. I have 54 VH cases that are more reinforced than those, around the top 2 mounting lugs each side, but it wouldn't be critical unless you are building a special HP engine.. Nev

Thanks for your response Nev....very much appreciated. So I need to find somebody who intends to build/rebuild a 350cc Single engine?

THAT case also has dowels in the cam case Cover and a different Breather on the drive side that limit it's applicability, Nev

I've been watching ebay. Not impressed. Nobody seems to be buying for classic bikes. Cylinder heads and the like not even fetching a Tenner!!!

It would be a shame to scrap some thing that's NOT crap. Put some WD Fluid on it and stick it on a shelf and take it to a Swap day where you'll probably buy more stuff. Yours has no damage that I can see. Nev

Nah. I have lots of other parts, but nobody seems interested! I can assure you, I will not be swapping or buying other stuff, otherwise I wouldn't be trying to sell what I have got. If nobody is buying parts to restore classic bikes anymore, then the market must have collapsed. So very sadly, weighing it in at the scrappies seems to be the only option left!
