Nice basis for restoration.
Top model of Ariel, model Red Hunter a 500cc OHV with high exhausts.
In 1932 Ariel launched a new model range and it was an instant success. The top model, the Red Hunter, was very popular with sporty drivers and is widely used for racing and off-road competitions.
This is a nice base for restoration. The lower block has been overhauled, new piston and drilled, new valves, springs and guides. Previous owner changed the cylinder head to a younger model with closed valves.

Topmodel van Ariel, model Red Hunter een 500cc kopklepper met hoge uitlaten.
In 1932 kwam Ariel met een nieuwe modellenreeks op de markt en dit was een instant succes. Het topmodel de Red Hunter was zeer geliefd bij de sportieve rijders en is veel gebruikt voor racing en off road wedstrijden.
Dit is een mooie basis voor restauratie. Het onderblok is gereviseerd, nieuwe zuiger en geboord, nieuwe kleppen, veren en geleiders. Vorige eigenaar heeft de cilinderkop veranderd in een jonger model met gesloten kleppen.

This bike was last heard of in 1986 when it was in the country that it was originally exported to - Denmark. At that time the 1939 VA still had its original engine, the 1937 VG engine now fitted also went to Denmark in frame XF 9063.

Possibly this seller does not know or he is being creative with words.
