Fixed.
Problem was a security tweak I did 10 days ago - web browsers and servers keep copies of things locally so it didn't necessarily show up straight away for everyone (didn't show up for me until today).
If the header still pushes too far over for anyone try doing a 'clear cache' (or maybe a 'clear data') in the browser - and if it isn't obvious how to do that don't pursue it, the modern way seems to be to remove or disguise that facility.
If the problem persists and you get something like Dave Berkshire has been seeing please let me know.
(Dave - the module we're using to overlay the header banner doesn't have the facility to to %. only px. It should be able to handle different screen resolutions. I have some doubts about that but I don't have the resources - including the time! - to do fully comprehensive testing.)
