tapping new threads

Hi All, I had to tap a new thread into a Ariel 29 crankcase so just to be sure I have an old piece of alloy 1/4" and used that first then to check the hole size and thread tap first its so much easier and makes sure it will all work before the main job is done and of course find a bolt the right size, Clive.
