I spotted the Lancs Branch arriving in Pickering yesterday but haven't seen you yet Steve. I spent most of today in Deviation Shed at Grosmont de-coking the Q6 blastpipe. There are several more hours needed to finish the job........ The Q6 is the engine in the background of the photo in Cheval advertising the Yorkshire Break in October.

Yes, I was heading home on the train when you saw the lads, I'll be back up with them later.
Would have been up for 10 this morning but the overhead lines were down near Stevenage

Got back to York Thursday just after 10.00, which considering there was overhead lines down outside of Stevenage I didn't do too bad. She was only 30mins late.
Bike was in an old water tower safe and sound.

Jim did a lovely route for us up to Rosedale from Pickering, eventually getting to Grosmont railway sheds where we met Paul Jameson who's volunteering his time and effort keeping these steam engines alive.
All these lovely engines and I take a picture of this.

Just a mile or so before Grosmont I had a slight misdemeanor. Breaking downhill a touch too fast I managed to get my front wheel stuck in the muddy ditch to the left. I did eventually stop ploughing the bank with my foot peg. Just petrol and pride spilt. The lads came over dragging the bike off me and after knowing I was fine had a good laugh :D luckily no pictures.

At Beck Hole stopped for a Pie and a Pint .

Left my for my way home after a perfect day getting home Saturday morning.

Friday we played trains and got the steam train to Whitby.
I think we were at some point pulled along by Repton. A steam locomotive built in my own home town of Eastleigh.

Hampshire Branch had a trip to Motor Corsa cafe in Gillingham Dorset yesterday. Our Keith led us on our way through Romsey and Salisbury towards Shaftesbury. Traffic in Salisbury can be an absolute nightmare, and this time despite Keith's best efforts it didn't disappoint. Temporary traffic lights kept popping up. One set had an electrical issue with no lights, they the red came on and stayed that way. A guy came along and thumped it with a hammer.
But after Salisbury what a lovely ride. Beautiful countryside along roads not too far from where I live but have never been on before.

Technically I'm starting off a bit early for the Scottish Branch Bevvy Rally , as I'm going via Bere Island.

maybe if I work hard for at least one more year, I will understand that the meaning of life is not returning and I will start eating more on my Ariel and she will visit my friends more often. I would really like to ride today, but there is still something I have to finish and so I don't have time to enjoy... :(
