Dick, do you still have an oil pump for sale?
I have a request in the 'Wanted' section currently.

Dennis

Hi Dennis, I don't have an oil pump unfortunately. I suggest you try the Singles Spares officer; even if he has only 2nd hand ones they will be worth looking at. In my experience once the balls and springs are renewed they will then perform for many years. Don't be tempted to use a Triumph pump though. I tried it once and all I got was a load of grief. I think at some stage MORGO made oil pumps for singles. Drags were offering a repair service also, but this I think involved reboring the pump body then making new plungers to suit. Let me know how you get on. Cheers, Dick

Draganfly did run an exchange service of re-bored pumps, although very few need that service, as Dick says, most pumps need new balls, springs and a re-seating of the balls. Oil pumps don't tend to wear unless full of grit as they run in oil. Most Triumph pumps have the plungers the oppositte way round to Ariel and the ones that are the right way round have the mounting holes slightly out of line but will work well. Draganfly now make their own pumps, rather than re-conditioning, but are waiting for more stock.

Dick and Roger, thank you for your replies. My original problem, apart from potentially worn pump bores, was a seized pump plug. The square end for a spanner/ screwdriver was destroyed. In desperation I used a stud remover (left hand thread) and some heat. Luckily that did the trick. I have ordered new plugs, springs and balls. I used a new ball bearing to tap the ball seats and then I used a ball araldited to a rod with chrome polish to clean the ball seats.
I have seen a video about testing a pump installed on the engine so I will see how well the pump works.
