I don't think that's Geoff in your picture, and the bike doesn't look the same at all. I looked up some programmes from 1980-1986 online, and Geoff seems to have used race numbers 214 and 219 when racing. His tank also didn't have the gold lining and his exhaust was a l/h high level affair.

The Corish Ariel pictured in Brian’s post was quick and well known, however no one seems to know the whereabouts of that bike today. I have some Corish parts including a cam and the master cam from which Keith ground his cams and I know that some of his parts went to a dodgy dealer in South Australia. If anyone knows of this bike please let us know.

while I do not have any photos of John riding, John was a very sucessful road racer in NSW Australia. He was for a few years known as the king of the Mt Druit race circuit. The photo of John taken by me in 2009 shows an advertising poster made following Johns 1955 race season. 13 starts, 13 placings including 3 first places. 1956 was his best season in which he won most races.

On the subject of racing I see that the New Zealander Peter Lodge’s ES2 Norton, ridden by Mike Browne.has finished in third place in the 2022 Classic Senior Manx Grand Prix. The ES2 set a new lap record for a 500cc single cylinder of 110.312mph. Not bad for a pushrod single. The race winning Yamaha set a fastest lap of 111.029mph.
