At least 21 bikes went out in September 1937 with 1938 CD prefix engines and 1937 XF prefix frames. The frames were all numbered well over 10000, most being in the 11000 series.

CD 2876 is a 1938 VH engine despatched in XG 4658, frame XF 9562 was originally a VB with hand change. Ariel did occasionally use a few of the previous year's frames but never engines as the bikes were listed in engine number order, so even if an engine went into a later frame after the year had ended it would be listed in the correct book for the year of the engine.

My old 1937 NH1 was fairly original and you can see some photos for reference.

The tank was an Indian replacement which I bought through Drags and was excellent so I think there are good and bad Indian tanks.

Hi All.
I think that this project could be of interest to me. Does anyone know if it is still available and whereabouts is it in the country? I think that I could live with the non-original parts but it would be good to know whether the frame and engine are 'Red Hunter'
Do we have anyone on the forum who could confirm that the frame number quoted (XF9562) did start life as a RH and not another model using the same frame? and the same for the engine number (CD2876) original RH or VG etc?
Please excuse my lack of Ariel knowledge but would the 38 engine still have exposed valves?
And finally, if all this checks out, how do I contact the seller?
Many Thanks in anticipation, Peter

I'm with Roger, I should have read page 2 before sending in my questions.
I see now that some have been answered but nothing about the seller.
I will await news. Thanks
