FH, with rear mudguard fitted (maybe it should come off to get more ‘leverage’?

I’m currently enjoying a long game of FERC fitting. Rules are clear: no swearing until at least the third attempt. Profanities can be uttered on any of the following: scratching the new paintwork, nearly getting there and it all pops out again, getting it jammed between the shock absorber and the rear sprocket. Any attempt to walk away and think about it later forfeits that round, and the Ariel wins another point.

On a more serious note - any tips to get the flippin thing back on, lined up, in its grooves and not ruined in the process?

Hi Martin

Leave all of the fasteners as slack as possible, don't tighten anything until it's all in place. A couple of 'prodgers', (old screwdrivers tapered down to a point), were invaluable when I fitted mine

If it's a repro set, as mine was, do a dry assembly off of the bike first.
