Ariel Owners Motorcycle Club

While sorting out my old photos, I found the one attached. I was visiting Hampshire County Fair in Netley on a free week-end in the middle of a two week technical course at Hants et Sussex in Portsmouth, early autumn 1986. The Ariel - VH or VHA? - was set in front of a tent of South Hants Vehicle Preservation Society. Registration no: FFE 553 and it has gaiters/bellows fitted on the forks as a non-original feature.
May be a member recognizes FFE 553? There was another Ariel, too, registration no: COW 141, rigid/girder forks, green tank. Unfortunately I only have the negative left.

Coincidentally I was living in Southampton in 1986, but didn’t visit the fair.
