Is there a good forum like this one for BSA's?

Hi all, it has been a long time since I last posted, sorry. I'm still an ariel fanatic, but I couldn't pass up this new opportunity. Could anyone recommend a forum like this one to help me with my latest project? 1939 BSA G14. A lot of forums I have had a look at are just nasty. I'm not on facebook, but should I give up my prejudice and join? I would join a club to access their forum if necessary. Thanks, Adrian.

WOW ! That looks absolutely fab - what a tool :o .

That will keep you busy (and poor) for quite a while . . . But when you wheel the finished bike out into the sunshine it will all be worthwhile.

I know its an 'inferior' make (cough) but could we see the occasional update please ?

A great project.

Bob.
(can't help with a BSA Forum - I have an Ariel, two Triumphs and a Panther).

Adrian,
Definitely include the WD bike forum http://pub37.bravenet.com/forum/static/ ... 4&cmd=show of which the BSA M20 is a very common subject and which bike I suspect has a lot of commonality in running gear, gearbox, girders, electrics, etc with your new beast. They're also the "go to" site for me for sidevalvers - they understand these things. That thing might be faster than you think; I had a couple of Broughs with JAP & Matchless sidevalve engines - big, soft engines and both good for 80+ solo. And those sort of animals can handle well even if the braking is exciting.
Let us know how you get on, MikeN.

I would really like to experience a BSA G14 and Sloper as well but they just are not to be found here in North America, very nice to see one come to the surface anywhere.
I am with the A7-A10 forum and there are some good people on that one but quite focused in interest. I really should consider associating with another forum as along with 5 Ariel’s I have 7 BSA’s.

Thanks for the replies. I will give them a try. Firstly I am looking for literature. There are a couple of important parts missing, such as gearbox and primary cases, but we're hoping to find them in the other clutter somewhere. This will be a big project for me, my others have been dismantle and refresh jobs, relatively easy. I am thinking I would start with the sidecar, and perhaps get some early success to keep me motivated while looking for parts etc. Here's a pic of the sidecar. Scored an anvil as part of the deal, sweet!

That's a fine anvil . . . Mine is half that size !

I'd be inclined to ride the BSA solo (if the frame is straight) but each to their own, its a good looking combination.

Looking forward to the build reports ;) .

Bob.

Hi Adrian,
Here is a picture of my old 34 G14 may be helpful for reference , very original, every engine bolt had the piled arms on the end. I got Avery good workshop manual from someone on the internet, will try and see if I have any record of it any where? I gave it to the new owner in the Czech Republic
when I sold it last year . If you need more pictures I have some so pm me.
