Wondering. Did you tig that in or use some sort of brazing rod designed for aluminium? Looks excellent!

Nice job.
Setting up a Mill takes far longer than machining the part. Interesting to see an adjustable boring head there (I have them), was the tube OD clearance an odd size ?
I just spent 3 hours 'tramming' my Mill before machining the face of a B&S block from my mower (it needed 0.0015" taking off after the head gasket blew).
We're all at it .

1” OD tube. Just bored out the remnant tubing.

More cleaning and fettling on the Q box n cogs today. This is the best i got from three gearboxes. Have to say though that for 90-95year old items they’ve lasted ok.
