One of my all-time favourite motorcycling memories is of riding my old M20 combination, from Farnham, where I was studying, all along the A31/B3006 to Selborne where we lived – in snow about four inches deep. The road was all but deserted, but the outfit, with Avon Sidecar Triple Dutys all round, seemed to positively relish the whole experience. Somehow that rather ungainly mix of two-plus-one wheels, really has a surprising amount of traction and stability…

You either like outfits or you don't. How the are set up makes a lot of difference but you have to think a lot further ahead of the bike and watch off camber downhill corners to the left with BRIT rules. They are hard on the bike in many ways. Nev

Funny thing, yesterday was club night deep down in Hampshire. Colin Craig gave us a great film show using some footage that Dick Henry shot back in the 60's .
There was alot of snow back then.

That's my first Ariel, 486 EPK, though not me riding it, I hasten to add, I never was daft enough to go to the Elephant, which is where that is I suspect. I bought Attila the Huntmaster, as she was known, in 1977 from a guy we called Bullshit John who was running a sidecar based motorcycle recovery service! Earlier owners were Ron Rose and George Breen but I don't have any dates for their ownership. They were both London branch members.

Wow, that's lovely, wonder where it is now.
