I SOMETIMES HAVE TROUBLE SELECTING FIRST GEAR
IT ENGAGES MOST OF THE TIME BUT NOT ALLWAYS, THE LEVER WILL NOT GO ANY FURTHER.
HAS ANYBODY GOT ANY ADVICE PLEASE

hi does it go into gear ok without the engine running if it does then i would look at the clutch adjustment or dragging or sticking clutch plates, most of time i find problems with getting first gear it is to do the clutch

Hi, I had something similar a few years ago on the standard Leader. Found that going into second then back to first enable me to select first. Not absolutely sure what the problem was but I suspected it had something to do with the dowells in the selector drum/spindles. When the engine was being repaired I noticed the dowels had a flat on one side, so they were renewed. Not had the problem again in a number of years, so might have solved the problem or it may have been a coincidence. BH.
