Feeling rather smug with myself putting together my WNG engine..
Only the rockerboxes to fit and it's ready for the frame.....
Ohhhhh, whats that at the edge of the table ??
I symply cannot remember not putting them in, so they must be in there..
But,.. for which piston are those loose circlips ?
So..
I am going to undo the four base nuts again and lift the whole plot up to the pin

I hate it it when that happens. Sometimes the opposite happens. A missing nut for my piston ring compressor tool, spent hours looking for it but luckily found its way down to the sump plate caught on the magnet

I had quite a struggle once fitting a new tube and tire to one of the rims of my Sq4 and once I got them on the rim it took a lot of inflating and deflating and bouncing it up and down to centre the tire properly. After finally getting it all done I cracked open a beer, sat down to enjoy it and noticed the rim tape sitting on the table beside me. Doh!

My story from Alzheimer land:
I have a BSA A7 longstroke that runs well. But I also have a spare engine with partly good/better parts.
Last year I scheduled an overhaul using the cylinders and cylinder head from the spare engine. When I opened the engine, there were no piston rings and no push rods.
So I got the parts from the Drags.
After the swap I completed the spare engine with the removed parts. I happened to open the clutch housing and found the push rods and piston rings there. I had expanded it to protect it and kept it (very very) safe there!

Hahaha, after three years waiting for the right bits I am assembling my A7 long stroke this past week and have found duplicates of some of the parts I looked for so hard. Forgot about a friend of mine contributing a few pieces but I never properly looked in the box! Oh well, I have a second bike to do in any case.

I always put 1 circlip in the piston before the gudgeon pin goes in. Cover the crankcase to make sure NOTHING falls in there. Circlips have a habit of flicking to other places when you are installing them. Nev
