Flutes on 1956 tank

Post by John.Newbury »

I want to remove the flutes from my NH tank for rechroming and as this is the first Ariel I have owned with flutes can anyone tell me the easiest way to remove before I do any damage? I assume they are just clipped and are removed by just easing forward but that seems too easy.

John,
Recently removed some from a 56vh. Yes they slide off forward. Each flute is held on, fore and aft, by a tin lip. I felt some movement event under light pressure before pushing them off.
regards
Ian
