Re: Ariel 4F/600 - 1932 engine
I would remove the ball cover. My OHC 4 worked very well without one. You don't need much oil to lubricate the top end adequately and the oil drops into the camshaft tunnel so it gets where it is needed.

what force do you use to pull your head? I have a torque wrench, what force should I set?

sometimes it is very difficult to get some answers to various questions. My post is watched by a lot of people every day, but getting some response on the fore is rather rare.

I folded the upper rocker arm and screwed my head to the engine. On Google, I studied that screws with this diameter and strength of 8.8 can be tightened with a force of 57 Nm I set the force to 50 Nm instead and tightened all the screws according to the instructions.

I have to have new screws made to attach the timing chain covers. I have all been damaged and I miss a lot of them

Re: Ariel 4F/600 - 1932 engine
I would advise on torque settings if I could - but I simply used experience to judge how tight they should be. I suspect that you are equally capable of making this judgement.
Ariel never published torque settings for the OHC Four. The only known torque settings from Ariel are dated 1957 (or within a year or two of this) and they had declared the OHC Four obsolete by, I think, the late 1930s. The exact date for the OHC four being declared obsolete is given in one of the Service Bulletins on the website.

Re: Ariel 4F/600 - 1932 engine
we managed to complete the case for model 4F / 1932. Again, we are a little closer to the goal I'm still waiting for the screws to finish. I would like to assemble the engine

Re: Ariel 4F/600 - 1932 engine
great news, new screws arrived today. I can finally assemble the engine. I had to make new divorce breast screws. You can't buy from us either, so I had to have them all turned I cut out all the seals and assembled the engine. Now I will have to wait for the chassis to be brought to me
