My inspection lamp hasn’t had a bulb in for a while and I’m now missing whatever it is that connects to the bottom of the bulb. Any idea what I’m missing?
Thanks

Sorry Dave - I knew there was something else I had to photograph when I had the camera out today but I couldn't remember what. I will do it in a day or so.

Thanks Paul, I’m guessing it’s Ike the widget in the tail light, with an insulated central piece, but a pic would be great when you get time. No rush, it’s on the ramp for a few weeks

This was made from the tufnol insulator of an old tail light, probably the spring from the same light cut to length, a 4BA allen bolt and nut and a bit of heat shrink sleeving. I filed down the head of the allen bolt after tightening up the nut. I used the allen bolt because it was what I had in the workshop at the time. Overall length between top of head and end of threads is 13.7mm.

Thanks Paul. I decided last night to have a go, as my wife and young son were watching ‘Britain’s Got Talent’, and I was in danger of scratching my own eyes out !
I made something similar, brass covered in Nylon, although mine only needed about 9mm, from the Positive tang that comes off the switch , to the bottom of the bulb.
Thanks again anyway

Just BTW - when refurbished - suggest you fit an led equivalent available from http://www.norbsa02.freeuk.com/
... gives much superior illumination and less prone to breakage &/or failure.
