31340 switch and 308234 clip

Post by FrankBeevers »

I've just got round to fitting the new 31340 switch into the instrument panel on my 1957 Huntmaster that I'm rebuilding. I've got the 308234 clip. but can't for the life of me figure out how the clip holds the switch in position. I'd be grateful for any advice, although I know I'm going to feel daft when it is explained and is pretty simple!

Thanks,

Frank

Thanks for the reply and photo Mick. My control panel doesn't look like yours. There is no folded edge to allow the tips of the clip to engage; it is just a smooth surface with nothing to grip against. As the bike was largely in bits when I got it, and the original switch had disappeared, I'm not sure that the panel is the right one for the bike. If I could figure out how to post pictures on here, I have taken a photograph.
