take the bike for inspection , i think its a good thing as now i can drag out a bike when the sun comes out and not have to book a MOT , by the way my tester said that mots on older machines was getting his station marked down ? and was told to mot machines 3 years old more ? has anyone heard of this before as it sounds a bit odd to me

Both the MOT stations, that I use, told me that they automatically score more points on their risk assessment (a bad thing) for MOT-ing vehicles over a certain age
They both said that the overhead associated with rolling new test requirements back for older vehicles was causing problems, which is probably the main driver for this new legislation.

Make of it what you will, but we'll likely go the same way as Japan.

Oh and I imagine you will still require an MOT to register a vehicle.....
