How best to touch up chipped powder coating

Post by Keith.owen »

The moment I have been waiting for is finally arriving......................

I installed gearbox and engine less head and rockers into the frame which is now resting on wooden blocks on the floor. I have also noticed that I chipped the powder coating on the bottom frame member where I had to rotate the box on it's pivot to man handle things into position. This despite padding things as a precaution. The question now is 'Who out there knows how to effectively touch up the damage so as to prevent either unwanted reactions between paint types (if indeed this can happen') and the breeding of rust devils? Clearly I would like to get as good a finish as possible in the process but accept that damage has been done!!

The benefit of others experience will be most welcome!!

I'm not a fan of powder coating. If it is chipped I can't see any reaction being a problem between any paint and the powder coating. just sand it off and apply the enamel or whatever as a touch-up. One of the biggest problems with powder coating is it's thickness. Nev
