Did you mean 'Mazak', zinc aluminium alloy?
Really good effort to produce a replica part.

Years ago (apprenticeship time years ago), I worked at Hornby Railways.
All the loco chassis were die cast using 'poop' metal.
I remember that the yield was very low. All the scrap parts were put back into the melting pot.
Should have kept hold of some ingots of the Mazac for vintage bike part production.

Well Julian, to be honest with you I melted 3 miniature cars from my youngest son (don’t be afraid he’s now 35…) which are still in a box with old toys
the melting point is something around 450 degrees celsius, and it works!

Interesting.
The name Mazak has stuck with me too, though reading the Wikipedia article it sounds like Zamak is more commonly known.
Maybe because I played with Matchbox cars as a kid.
