1938 NH rear mudguard hole.

Post by Nick Young »

Hello,
Does anyone know what was originally fitted to this hole in the rear mudguard?
The only thing that I can think of is a reflector. However don't believe that the fitting of reflectors to bikes was the norm back in 1938. So perhaps not original and was drilled by a previous owner to fit one.
Thanks,
Nick

Correct, not original, reflector not fitted until1953, dropped in 1955 as incorporated into the 564 tail light

Thanks for those replies - I am just refurbing my mudguards on a 1934 NH and wondered why there was a hole there!
