Wanted 350 exhaust pipe

Post by Pete.Silson »

I am looking for a LH downpipe for a postwar 350 twin port. I know I could buy a nice new shiny one from Armours but the rest of the bike is patina'd (old and tatty) and I would prefer something to match.

Alternatively a pair of high level pipes would be really nice if you have them kicking about unused under your bench (unlikely I know but if I don't ask...)

I have a LH downswept pipe, mainly chrome but patches of rust. I also have a pair of upswept pipes in similar condition but the RH one has some added dents. I am sure they could all be made to suit what you want by a little riding through salt and mud.

I'm sure you can get spray on rust substitute for just the pipes. Nev

Spray suggary water lightly (no runs) on the pipe when hot. That will make it look used and some WD 40 to burn on to it and a light misting with etch primer Show me your results and I will award the Michaelangelo prize for the best FAKE patina . No correspondence will be entered into with the JUDGE. Bribes will be considered if discretion maintained. Nev

Always worth asking the question - lo and behold Paul Jameson has come up trumps (many thanks). So I am now the proud owner of a pair of high level pipes. An immediate unforseen issue however is the horn needs to go elsewhere - I assume that's why Ariel put the horn on the front engine plates. So all I need a bracket (6155-35) but...

...the man from Draganfly say "may be back ordered" as usual.

There is no need to buy fake patina round these here parts, our local council provides a free salty sludge spray service every winter.
