This book will be about the Red Hunter and its single cylinder siblings 1932 to 1959. The interim year of 1931 will be included.
You may wonder whether this will be anything like the Black Ariels book? It will share some of the style and enthusiasm and I hope it will be just as useful but a thirty year span instead of five years will require a different formula.
Calling all Arielists...:
I will be collecting information, period photos and data on these motor cycles (1931-1959 4-stroke singles)
I'm looking for...
- Period photos (not restorations). Scan quality must be high for publication.
- Any geek notes (nothing is too geeky)
Also, you may know such details as...
- The year differences between... primary cases, tool boxes, cams, electrics, handlebar levers, saddles, gearboxes.... etc.
- Paint RAL codes.
- Wheel offsets
- Spring/Fastener finishes
- Tank 'furniture' & badges
- Frames, forks, wheels, tinware
I'm aware that none of us live forever and right now there is a lot of Ariel knowledge amongst you all which will go unrecorded if it's not written down so I'll make sure that I attend one of the major club rallies this year and invite any of you to download your Ariel brains.
