Re: VH 500 Crank Case how to open
At last all work is done. Found someone close to my place in colone.
The first phone call left me a bit in doubt. When i entered his Garage with 5 or 6 BSA all siamese, a vincent shadow on his working place almost finished another one somewhere in a corner, a bit dusty all doubts disappeared.
He opened the fly wheels and did the big end bearing from alpha.
He made a new small end bush and checked barrel, piston and head too.
Finished rebuild last week and my VH500 started second kick.

Good job. If your bike has frame PR 1607 it was last recorded on the register in 1984 owned by EW Jones in Bristol, which would explain the phone number on the side of your flywheel, which is an out of date Bristol number.
Isn't google wonderful?

Great result Ralf!
(Unfortunately, the Bristol engineering company with their name on your flywheels - PB Engineering - seem to be long gone! )

You are right, Roger.
That's my frame. Unbelievable. Thank's a lot for checking.
So Bristol changed to Cologne. Will give it a nice home.
