Is insurance needed for age related registration
My 1950 NH project is moving along quite well so I am preparing the paperwork for the DVLA to obtain an age related number for the bike. The notes I received some time ago from various sources suggest that a valid insurance cover note should be included with the submission, although I thought I read somewhere recently that this is no longer necessary. Can anyone confirm the situation as I cannot find any mention on the DVLA website or downloaded documents. Thanks in advance.

hi paul you will not get insurance unless you do in on the frame and engine number , but you don't need insurance to get a registration, it just needs to be registered with DVLA

Thanks Johnny, I’m just getting up to speed with all of the changes. I think I’m there now but just found out that my 2016 AOMCC dating certificate will not work at DVLA, it needs to be less than a year old so I have to start again.
